Yeast Infection Spit Test

The yeast infection spit test will give you a strong indication of whether or not you have a yeast infection.  It is a simple to do at home yeast infection test and goes as follows:

1. Before you go to bed take a glass of water with you and keep it next to your bed ready for the morning when you wake up.

2. When you wake up, stay in bed, get the glass and spit into the water.

3. Leave the glass and wait 15-30 minutes for the saliva to react with the water.

The results, after 15-30 minutes, will indicate whether there is a strong possibility that you have a yeast infection.

If the saliva simply dissolves and integrates with the water the the result is CLEAR!

If you see branches of strings of saliva, like ’spider-legs’ then this indicates a relatively mild yeast infection.

If the water becomes cloudy and the saliva sinks to the bottom of the glass then the indications are that you have a more severe systemic yeast infection.

Note: The above test is a simple way of not always 100% accurate and so to be more certain in diagnosis it is advisable to have further testing.  You can read more on the yeast infection test page.
