Yeast Infection Diet

Can eating certain types of food make your yeast infection worse?  Is diet to prevent yeast and bacteria infection, improve my health and help prevent the candida yeast infection from getting any worse or making it better?

The answer to the above is YES, absolutely!  You’ve probably heard the expression ‘you are what you eat’ , meaning the food you eat has a direct effect on your body’s biochemistry and well-being well this also applies the types of food that will either fuel a yeast infection (and should be avoided) or starve a yeast infection and should be consumed more in your diet.

Observing a yeast infection diet plan can prevent the condition from spreading and helps to control the right balance in your body’s chemistry to help prevent recurrence.

Foods such as refined sugar, simple carbohydrates and refined complex carbohydrates are all considered to promote candida yeast fungus.  Examples would be white sugar, white rice and white bread.  Alternatives would be unrefined complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, whole grain products (bread and pasta) and a sugar alternative such as stevia.

Other foods to avoid or reduce in your diet are those that include yeast or mold such as mushrooms and white vinegar.

Consumption of dairy products such as cows milk can produce an allergic reaction and thus create excess mucus and increase susceptibility to yeast infection.

The origin and proliferation of a yeast infection is related the acidity levels and a balance which if it shifts to too much acidity then the growth of candida is encouraged.  Foods which can help to provide more alkaline and help bring the balance back to normal include those rich with calcium, cesium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, almonds, green juices, and most fresh vegetables.
